The office is open 8:30 am - 4:30 pm
Monday through Friday, closed 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm. The office is closed on all major holidays.

How do I make an appointment? |
Please call the
office at (760) 342-8444. All minors (under 18 years
of age) must be accompanied by an adult for
their visit. Follow-up visits are usually made in the
office before leaving.

Do you have bilingual employees? |
Yes. Both front
office and back office employees speak Spanish
and English.

How long is the typical appointment? |
We usually
request patients to come 30 minutes prior to their
appointment time to fill out paperwork. A new
patient appointment averages approximately 30
minutes, but could last longer, depending on

What insurance companies are you affiliated with?

Desert Hand
Associates is associated with the following HMO
IPAs (Independent Physicians Associations) on a referral
basis only: Empire Physicians Medical Group, Desert
Oasis Healthcare, Kaiser. Nearly all private insurances are accepted. Secondary
insurance carriers are billed as a courtesy. Dr. Freedman accepts
assignment for Medicare and Workers' Compensation cases are
accepted as well.

Are x-ray facilities readily accessible? |
There is on-site
X-ray equipment, allowing x-rays to be performed
during the patient's visit by Dr. Freedman.

Is Dr. Freedman on staff at the Valley hospitals? |
Dr. Freedman is
on staff at
Eisenhower Medical Center.

Where is surgery performed? |
Dr. Freedman performs the majority of
surgeries at the Rancho Mirage Surgery Center, a state of the art surgical center located a short distance away in Rancho Mirage.

Where is therapy commonly performed?
|
For convenience and continuity of care, most patients are treated at the in-office occupational therapy facility. For those patients
with transportation difficulties, referrals can be
made to any of the other facilities in the valley.
